Focus on Annie Duke

Annie Duke might not have earned her first WSOP Bracelet until 2004 but she is one of the most feared poker players at the ring matches at The Bellagio in vegas. Annie’s longawaited WSOP bracelet came with success at the "forgotten game" of Omaha high-low.

While competitors from the "younger generation" of poker run wild following a huge win at the tables, Annie heads back home and becomes "mom" to her four children. Annie was born in New Hampshire into a family of poker competitors. If you do not believe that, watch her brother, Howard Lederer, in action who coached her how to bet on the game.

However, Annie Duke is no small change girl and has succeeded at her cut of difficult tables, including eliminating Howard along the way on a couple of occasions. They are both competitors that have the capability to capture the big bucks and do it with a grin.

Annie Duke is a strong player at any table due to the fact that she is a true poker player, but it’s a bit more than just being skilled at the game. Annie Duke is extremely intelligent and graduated from Columbia University where she majored in Psychology and English.

When you take a seat across from Annie at the table you know Annie Duke is there to compete in the game and she starts "sizing" you up from the time you join the game table. If you cannot play like a winner, then don’t waste your time.

Winning over three million dollars in tournament competitions, Annie branched out to become a adviser to both the UltimateBet website and actor Ben Affleck, who aspired to hone his techniques and develop into a power at the poker table.

You might glimpse her at the Bellagio, you will see her on the tv and you might even play against her in an online poker match, but don’t count on a simple win. Except of course you’re a camp-in-the-making, you’ll not beat her. Although, it’d be exciting to say you played at the same table as "The Duke".
