Online Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen experienced an amazing year on the WPT where he was the only gambler to make it to the final game in three of the events. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he paid $400, 000 to play. You may recall one of the biggest pots in high stakes poker recorded history competing against Daniel Negreanu. He won a large pot with quads against Negreanu’s full house. Hansen has earned many televised poker appearances and is thought to be one of the best enthusiasts in the world. While gambling on online poker, a different side of Hansen has emerged. He frequently participates in the 200/400 NL maximum buy-in of $40, 000. Gus more often than not buys-in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and plays very poorly. He waits patiently for a decent hand and then goes all in. I know Hansen is an excellent poker player but not even close to the regular players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is flat broke, he has no reason to play at the game with the min buy in.

Playing for the minimum takes a majority of the skill out of deep stack poker. Gus is presumed to be 1 of the best players anywhere in the world but he can’t buy-in for the total dollar value. I think tv can skew our perception of the real world at times. The greatest poker players anywhere in the world could be guys you have never heard of. Gus can be seen gambling on internet poker on Full Tilt. He generally plays in big stakes omaha high and texas holdem. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his abilities in money rounds?
