Annie Duke may not have attained her 1st WSOP Bracelet until 2004 but Annie is still one of the most feared poker players around the ring games at The Bellagio in Las Vegas. Annie’s long-overdue World Series of Poker bracelet came with a win at the "forgotten game" of Omaha Hi-Lo.
While players from the "young crowd" of poker run wild after a huge success at the tables, Annie heads home to be "mum" to her 4 children. She hails from NH and was raised into a family of card players. If you do not believe that, check out her brother, Howard Lederer, in action, Howard taught Annie the correct way to compete in poker.
However, Annie Duke is not a small-potatoes girl and has won her share of hard games, including knocking out Howard along the way on numerous occasions.
Winning over 3 million dollars in tournament action, Annie became a advisor to both UltimateBet.com and actor Ben Affleck, who aspired to build up his techniques and become a big player at the poker table.
You may glimpse Annie at the Bellagio, you will see her on the tv and you might even compete with her in a web poker game, but do not count on an easy win. Unless you are a champion-in-the-making, you won’t defeat her. However, it would be fun to say you played at the same table as "The Duke".
