Literally millions and millions of players strive to be the next "star" in poker, but here is a short list of four of the more well known "nice guys" of the game. Granted "nice" is connected with their names when you are playing them it is "no more Mr. Nice guy" until they have put you out of the competition!
Daniel Negreanu
In Two Thousand and Four, his tourney winnings amounted to in the region of $4.4 million and he won 2 highly admired awards in the World Series of Poker Player of the Year and Cardplayer Magazine’s Tournament Player of the Year. In Feb 2006 he was named Card Player’s Preferred Poker Player. Daniel even still has the decency to talk with his admirers about how they could boost their own game.
Howard Lederer
Referred to as "The Professor" and brother of fellow poker professional Annie Duke. His achievements have lead to him making an educational video named "Secrets of No Limit Hold’em" and also holding a tournament poker show for Fox. As of 2005, his total life winnings surpass $2.7 million.
Scotty Nguyen
Scotty is one of the busiest players in poker and from Two Thousand to 2004 he ranked in the money in well over one hundred tournaments. He’s noted for saying "yeah baby" throughout poker matches and also coined the phrase "that’s poker baby" when referring to a exceptionally bad defeat. As of Two Thousand and Six, his life time winnings are almost 6 million dollars.
Chris Ferguson
Chris has earned five World Series of Poker titles with two of his successes happening in 2003. Chris has the alias "Jesus" as a result of his trademark long hair and beard, and is able to toss playing cards fast enough to slice through bananas and pickles. As of 2005 his total poker tourney winnings exceeded five million dollars.
