Internet Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen experienced an amazing year on the WPT where he was the only one to make it to the closing game in 3 of the competitions. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You might recall one of the biggest pots in high stakes poker history against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen secured a large pot with quads against Negreanu’s full house. Hansen has earned many tv poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the greatest bettors in the world. While gambling on web poker, another side of Hansen has emerged. He regularly competes in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy in of $40, 000. Gus more often than not buys-in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and plays very poorly. He waits for a good hand and then goes all in. I accept that Gus is an amazing poker player but not even close to the everyday players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is broke, he has no reason to sit at the game with the min buy-in.

Buying in for the min takes almost all of the expertise out of deep stack poker. Gus is supposed to be one of the greatest players in the world but he can’t buy-in for the full amt.. I think television can skew our view of the real world every now and then. The best poker players in the world might just be players you have never heard about. Gus can be found competing in online poker on Full Tilt. He generally competes in big stakes Omaha and texas holdem. Gus Hansen has proven himself as a tournament player. Can he use his skills in cash rounds?
